At iProspect, we believe that our employees are more than just their job titles. They're talented, multifaceted individuals with unique interests and hobbies that make them who they are. Many of our employees possess a unique trademark - a special skill or passion that is exclusive to them, making them stand out in their own way. It's what we like to call their 'IP.'
In this edition of 'What's Your IP,' we interviewed Lily Buenavista a manager of paid search at iProspect, who shared her inspiring fitness journey. Discover how high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout transformed her life, pushing her beyond her comfort zone and empowering her to achieve remarkable feats both personally and professionally.
Lily> I never imagined myself attending group fitness workouts as it is something that was super outside my comfort zone. I finally decided to take the leap and sign up for my first class at the beginning of 2022 because I was motivated to get in shape for my wedding that was at the end of the year.
Over the past year and a half, I have been an active member of Orangetheory Fitness (OTF). OTF is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that takes place in a group setting and led by a coach. I went from little to no exercise throughout my week to now being completely hooked on working out! I've continued attending classes three to four times a week even post-wedding.
Lily> My new fitness routine has impacted me personally in countless ways. Physically, I'm the strongest I've ever been. I've been able to prove to myself that my body can do hard things. That's provided me a lot of confidence and given me the mentality that I can achieve things that I never thought were possible. This confidence is directly reflected in the work that I do at iP. If there are any challenges that I face at work, I already know that I'm capable of doing more than I may give myself credit for.
Lily> I make it a point to make my workouts a priority in my life. I choose to put my health and well-being at the forefront because I know that working out is going to impact my life in a positive way, both physically and mentally.
Lily> I think the most memorable moment was when I hit my 200th class. It actually occurred right around a year after I signed up for my first class. I just showed up to class like I would any other day, and they had this custom sign for me. They were ready to take my picture, and it was just a complete surprise. I was really proud of myself at that moment.
Since I've signed up, I've completed two Dri-Tri competitions (which consist of three blocks: a 5K, 2000m row, and 300 body-weight reps). I also always prioritise participating in any specialty workout classes/weeks like 'Hell Week' in October (where the classes are more challenging that usual), or 'Marathon Month' where we run a marathon on the treadmills in class over the course of a month.
Lily> iProspect really cares about the well-being and work-life balance of their employees. I feel like it can be pretty easy for companies to say that they care about balance, but iProspect really acts on it. I'm really grateful for the flexibility that we have here.
