There’s something chilling about walk-in freezers. The cavernous space. The thick, creaking door. The endless boxes of…beef. Anyone who has worked in foodservice can attest: Freezers are scary.
Since Halloween is the perfect time to highlight what’s truly chilling, Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada and agency partner McCann Canada want to remind Wendy’s® customers of the scariest thing of all: frozen beef.
On October 16th, the brand brings freaky freezers to life with a chilling stunt at Screemers, Toronto’s original haunted attraction. For one night only, unknowing event-goers can find themselves experiencing just how chilling freezers can be when they come face-to-face with an industrial walk-in freezer equipped with startling sound effects, spooky lighting, and unsettling fog. The stunt will be filmed, capturing real, raw reactions which will in turn amplify the campaign’s OLV and social content in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
What’s not scary? Getting your hands (and mouth) around Wendy’s iconic Dave’s Single® Cheeseburger for just $4. “Wendy’s was built upon a commitment to quality and keeping it fresh,” shared Lisa Deletroz, senior marketing manager, Canada & Europe. “And it’s clear in the way we have committed to freshness on all fronts - including providing customers with fresh deals.” As consumers continue to crave more value, this latest campaign commemorates Wendy’s limited time offer to get the delicious premium burger for only $4, made with always fresh, never frozen Canadian beef.
The campaign and promotion will run on TV, radio, social/digital and OOH and will be available until November 3rd, 2024.
