“We Will Fix It” is the new online campaign conceived by BBH and produced by Pretzel Films that helps solve dilemmas for football fans. As one of the official sponsors of the UEFA Champions League, UniCredit helped manage situations in which life and football get in the way of each other, turning downs into ups. The first problem to be fixed was on Valentines Day, the same day as a UEFA Champions League match. How could this football fan treat his girlfriend and watch the match at the same time? In steps Luís Figo and his UniCredit ‘Fix it’ Squad to come up with a solution.
Italy, Germany, Romania and Hungary were participating this year and everybody could be involved via facebook telling their dilemmas: football vs. daily life and win a chance to be at a UEFA Champions League match.
The final film fixes for Alessio, a security guard at Rome Airport, to be at the UEFA Champions League Final in Munich. Every year he sees big football stars and their fans leaving for the Final. He was dreaming of this incredible experience at the Munich stadium but didn’t have the chance to go as he was stuck on a work shift. Luis fixed it for him to see FC Bayern München v Chelsea FC and he was surprised at work, all captured by hidden cameras.
“This campaign is an excellent idea as it involves football fans and also those who are not really into it” says Luís Figo, Official UniCredit Ambassador for the UEFA Champions League.
Jamie Maule-Ffinch directed the films. He is a gifted director from Pretzel’s stable of young talent and he specializes in observational comedy and has a lighthearted slant on life. He also gives wonderful insights into the characters he films and the stories he tells.
BBH creatives on the UniCredit campaign were Matt Fitch and Mark Lewis, who recently created the wonderful retelling of Three Little Pigs story for The Guardian. Other creatives included Martin Reed, Jonny Durgan, Neil Ritchie and Gary Arnold.
