Last week, The emPOWER Breakfast welcomed creative powerhouse Rebecca Rowntree for a morning of conversation, connection, and community.
Rebecca is a creative consultant, AI creative technologist, film director, and the founder of the Get Sh*t Done community - a platform built to celebrate real stories, creative resilience, and the spirit of making things happen. Whether through bold campaigns, beautifully crafted films, or mentoring the next generation, her work challenges the status quo and opens up space for creative voices to be heard.
We explored the messy, brilliant, and very human sides of doing the work - the pivots, the doubts, the wins hard-earned and lessons hard-learned. From navigating leadership as a freelancer to building a life and career on your own terms, Rebecca spoke candidly and generously, reminding us that being “in progress” is not a weakness, but a powerful and necessary place to be.
The feedback from the session has been incredible. One guest reflected, “Rebecca spoke so candidly about the challenges, the pivots, the moments of doubt - and how she turned them into growth, clarity, and confidence. Her journey is a powerful reminder that success isn't linear and that owning your voice, especially in fast-moving industries like advertising, is a game-changer.”
Another attendee shared, “For someone that tends to find networking events a bit 😬 it’s lovely to be in a room of such warmth and wisdom at The emPOWER Breakfast.”
And we loved this sentiment too:
“The joining of two of my favourite events in the ad industry did not disappoint - it was a match made in heaven: The emPOWER Breakfast X Get Sh*t Done.”
At emPOWER, we believe that true networks are built on generosity, intention, and mutual support. This event was a beautiful reminder of that - of what happens when we come together to lift one another up, share hard-won insights, and create space for honest conversation.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your presence, energy, and openness are what continue to shape this growing community. And a huge thank you to Rebecca for sharing her journey with such humour, humility, and heart.
