‘Black Perspectives’ celebrates and champions Black creators, creatives and entrepreneurs, allowing them to share their stories and their insights into their worlds of work and beyond

We Are Social has re-launched its long-running ‘Black Perspectives' series with a refreshed look and feel, and new YouTube-led format.

‘Black Perspectives’ celebrates and champions Black creators, creatives and entrepreneurs, allowing them to share their stories and their insights into their worlds of work and beyond. The 2025 series premiered on YouTube on Thursday 3rd April, featuring an interview with Sayce Holmes-Lewis, CEO and founder of youth mentoring organisation Mentivity. Filmed in We Are Social’s London studio, new episodes will be released quarterly, with the next set to land in June featuring Jeaniq Amihyia, founder of community-based production studio Starting Seven.

‘Black Perspectives’ debuted in 2020 as an Instagram Live series and has featured guests including Rotimi Merriman-Johnson (Mr Money Jar) Danielle Oreoluwa Jinadu, and Tanya Compas. It is one of the agency’s commitments in its annual Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Charter for Change; a public framework, introduced in 2018, designed to drive meaningful progress across People, Culture, and Work.

The Charter for Change is updated annually to reflect We Are Social’s progress in its diversity commitments, and share the agency’s key focus areas for the year to come. Accountability for delivering the Charter sits with the agency’s leadership team, chaired by UK CEO Jim Coleman, ensuring that diversity and inclusion remain central to the agency’s strategy and operations.

Sayce Holmes-Lewis, founder and CEO, Mentivity said, “I'm genuinely honoured to be the first guest in the refreshed Black Perspectives series. Being part of this new format, especially one that platforms our stories with intention and care, is powerful. Sharing Black stories and perspectives isn’t just important — it’s essential. These lived experiences carry the insight, innovation and resilience that continue to shape culture, community, and industry. When these voices are amplified and listened to, they help inform the kind of progressive policy and systemic change we need across all sectors — from education and health, to tech, media, and beyond.”

“I’m excited for what this new chapter of Black Perspectives represents and grateful to We Are Social for creating a space where our truths, challenges and triumphs are centred and celebrated. I hope it sparks necessary conversations and inspires meaningful action.”

Lucy Doubleday, managing partner at We Are Social commented, “Black Perspectives gives us the opportunity to hear directly from people who are doing really important work for, or within, the creative industries. This year we have some fantastic guests lined up, kicking off with the incredibly inspiring Sayce and Jeaniq. I’d encourage everyone to listen to their stories and insights.”
