VMLY&R Welcomes Marco Bezerra as UK Executive Creative Director for VMLY&R COMMERCE

Joining from Specsavers, the creative pioneer will bolster the UK's creative firepower and lead clients into the Creative Commerce era

VMLY&R has announced award-winning Marco Bezerra as UK executive creative director for VMLY&R COMMERCE. In the newly created role, Marco will be tasked to uplift the UK agency’s commitment to create connected brands that drive growth for clients. He will work across the UK client portfolio to deliver creativity that inspires conversion in the moment – regardless of channel.

Marco joins from Specsavers, the biggest retailer of glasses and healthcare in the UK, Australia, and Northern Europe, where he was deputy creative director and head of creative design. He helped develop the business across three continents through brand design, ATL, packaging, in-store, innovation and digital – engaging this iconic brand with new audiences.

Based in London, Marco will work with UK chief creative officer Laurent Simon and VMLY&R COMMERCE global chief creative officer Manuel Bordé.

Marco brings world-class experience, leading teams and brands to win creatively and commercially at JWT Dubai, Tribal DDB Amsterdam, DDB Brazil, CP+B Sweden and leading independents such as Africa. He has worked with iconic brands including Adidas, Bentley, Carrefour, and Harvey Nichols – with creativity consistently recognised at leading festivals across print, design, branded content, promo and direct, media, at Cannes Lions, The Webbys, D&AD, Clios, ADC/NY and One Show.

Marco’s creative fame includes Adidas’ The impossible Goal Keeper, Vivo’s My Name, My Game and NME’s The Sound Typeface – creating a brand new media medium though soundwaves. Career highlights include winning the World Cup sponsorship and Rafael Nadal’s endorsement with hot shop Africa; the first Glass Lion in DDB network history; a historic two Grand Prix win at Lynx Festival and launching award-winning DM9Sul. Marco was also named a Top Ten Creative Leader by BV in MENA.
