VaynerMedia Los Angeles has been appointed as US media agency of record for Alaska Airlines. The business was awarded following a competitive pitch.
VaynerMedia was selected based on the agency's disruptive approach to paid media planning and buying, as the airline continues to innovate its media strategies in unique ways. The agency will leverage their cohort-led approach, allowing signals that they are seeing in the market to inform media placements.
“We were looking for an agency to bring a unique, innovative approach to our paid media strategies,” said Eric Edge, managing director of marketing and advertising at Alaska Airlines. “With VaynerMedia’s expertise in media buying and planning, we are confident that they can bring new and exciting ideas to the table to effectively connect with potential guests.”
Lisa Buckley, managing director at VaynerMedia Los Angeles added, “Alaska Airlines is a remarkable brand and we’re thrilled to be teaming up with them. VaynerMedia’s approach allows for us to truly understand consumer attention, enabling us to activate in spaces that are most strategic for the brand. We are looking forward to bringing our prowess to further drive relevance and business results for Alaska Airlines.”
VaynerMedia will partner with Mekanism, Alaska Airlines’ creative agency of record, to ensure cohort-inspired creative is deployed in the marketplace.
The first major campaign, which will be focused on Alaska Airlines’ Care Coalition, will kick off in the Bay Area at the Super Bowl.
