VaynerMedia Canada has appointed Grace Mitchell as its first ever group creative director, creative lead Canada. In this role, Grace will be responsible for building a creative team as the company expands into the Canadian market, and execute VaynerMedia’s unique creative model with a new suite of Canadian brand partners. Grace will report directly to Jeanny Ponce, VP, country manager and work closely with Rob Lenois, chief creative officer.
This appointment is reflective of the continuous growth at VaynerMedia Canada, after the office opened its doors in March of 2023. After a five-year presence in the country servicing the Mondelez media business, VaynerMedia expanded to include creative, strategy, and media to allow the agency to most effectively service clients in the region.
“We’re thrilled to have Grace on board to articulate our creative capabilities in Canada and continue to grow our robust, talented team,” said Jeanny Ponce, VP, country manager of VaynerMedia Canada. “Grace’s unique background synergizes well with the VaynerMedia ethos, and we’re excited to foster this next step with her as our group creative director.”
“Since opening the office in March of this year, our team in Toronto has continued to grow and find success,” said Rob Lenois, chief creative officer at VaynerMedia. “We’re excited for Grace to bring her incredible expertise and POV to creatively build across Canada alongside Jeanny and the team.”
Grace holds over a decade of experience in content strategy, social media, and integrated campaigns, and will head up new creative offerings in the Toronto office. Previously, Grace served as the Creative Director for VICE Media and Refinery29 in Canada, working with brands who want to take a nontraditional, editorial approach to content and social media storytelling. Her portfolio also includes campaigns for the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, Levi’s, Harry Rosen, Wattpad, and Mejuri.
“VaynerMedia is a unique company in its integrated approach, and I couldn’t be more excited to bolster new offerings throughout Canada,” said Grace Mitchell. “It’s a great team here in Toronto, and I’m looking forward to helping expand, actualise, and create alongside them.”
Grace starts her position with immediate effect.
