Vapor Music Group today announces a quartet of developments: the launch of TV and film company, Long Division, a game audio offering, a renovated office space, and a fresh new website.
In response to increased demand for its longform offerings, Vapor Music Group has launched a television and film department, Long Division, which will be its own company with a unique website designed by Leo Burnett. The new brand serves every step of the audio process - be it dialogue recording, sound design, music supervision, licensing, or original music. Already, the Long Division team has worked on the Emmy Award-winning ‘Hilda’, music supervision for Director X’s (Jay-Z, Drake) upcoming show, ‘Robyn Hood’, as well as leading all audio for Spin Master’s highly anticipated animated series, ‘Unicorn Academy’.
Joey Serlin, co-founder and owner of Vapor Music Group, comments: “Stepping into a new world may seem daunting, but our advertising work has gifted us so much experience across an incredible range of projects - you gain so much adaptability jumping from one to the next. In a single month, a team might go from scoring a short film, to building a reactive digital experience, to directing a branded content series, and that creates a team that can do anything. Now, we’re just combining our skills with their unique specialties, talents, and interests.”
Long Division comes with a dedicated space thoughtfully designed to accommodate people and projects who are in it for the long haul, boasting a Dolby ATMOS certified mixing room, a full service casting studio, as well as double the footprint of audio production and recording spaces. Clients will also note the new brand aesthetic developed by Leo Burnett Toronto: inspired by a long format Pro Tools session timeline, the slivers of colour represent the array of elements that go into every piece of work.
On the gaming side, Vapor Music Group has also launched a specialised department focused on gaming audio - Vapor Game Audio, which already boasts an impressive portfolio including Embr, Marvel’s Dimension of Heroes, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, to name a few. The new specialised department focused on gaming audio offers a complete suite of services including original music scoring and music licensing, sound design, casting and voice direction, and custom audio engine development.
Vapor Music Group has also expanded with another additional studio, bringing its total up to six (between Toronto and Vancouver), with the rest of the office also being renovated. Elevating the overall experience, the space has been crafted to encourage face-to-face collaboration.
Lindsey Bates, managing partner at Vapor Music Group, comments: “Behind every renovation was this idea of creating a place that people want to go back to - we’ve proven we can collaborate virtually, but nothing beats in-person. Our space makes coming in an easy decision.”
The finishing touch to these developments is Vapor Music Group’s sleek new website. Inspired by the design aesthetic of the new space, the update allows the company to celebrate its new division, highlighting all of the work unique to that department.
