SEX BRAND launches with the UK’s most sustainable condom with every million sold matched and donated to address condom shortage in Uganda

Sex is dying. For the first time in history, we’re having sex less than once a week. The busyness of modern life, dating apps, social media, exposure to porn and societal pressures has taken its toll. The biggest problem of our time is the death of our oldest pleasure.

This Valentine’s Day, marks the launch of SEX BRAND, who are on a mission to save sex with openness, confidence and education that teaches great sex as well as safe sex. Because the more sex we have, the happier we get. And the better our sex, the closer we become.

So in this distracted, difficult, complicated time we live in, sex can save us. Not only that, but with sustainable condoms made from regenerative rubber, sex can save the world. So, isn’t time we saved sex?

SEX BRAND is here to revolutionise a tired category with an innovative take on sexual wellness built with people, sex and planet positive attributes at its core.

The UK's Most Sustainable Condom That Gives Back

Launching with their debut product - SECONDSKIN Condom - 34% thinner than a standard condom and made using a bio-mimetic lubricated rubber that mimics the pleasure of a real skin feel. Not only do they feel good, they do good for the planet and vulnerable communities.

SEX BRAND’s vegan condoms are available on subscription and made using a pioneering and fully transparent sustainable source of rubber, part of the Regenerative Rubber Initiative and will feature the UK’s first-ever fully recyclable PET* condom foil.

And for every million condoms sold, the brand will donate a million more to address the 27% supply shortfall in Uganda in partnership with NGO’s SafeHands and Reproductive Health Uganda. Condom distrubtion remains inconsistent and unaffordable across the country, with large discrepanies outside urban settings. While teen pregnancy and HIV prevalence stands high, current condom use is estimated at 44% for adolescent girls 15-19 years old. There is a high unmet need for contraception for all women of reproductive age, currently standing at 20.4%.

Jack Gove, SEX BRAND founder said, “We see a huge gap in the market for a brand to step in and actually stand up for sex and pleasure. Almost a quarter of 18-30 year olds have not had sex in the last 12 months, due to porn, digital distraction and a hundred other things. We want an impactful brand that encourages young people to feel positive and excited about sex again.”

Nils Leonard, Uncommon co-founder added, “Porn has never been so readily available, dating apps are actually pulling us apart, not together - we have literally lost the ability to speak to each other in bars - it’s insane. SEX BRAND is here to help stop the death of sex and have a meaningful impact on the world too. We set-up Uncommon to create brands people wish existed and this aims to do just that.”

The company which has raised £500k+ to date was founded by experienced entrepreneurs Jack Gove and Tom Salvat and is co-created with Uncommon Creative Studio. SEX BRAND will be extending their product range in the coming months with an ultra-hydrating, nourishing hyaluronic lube and a versatile vibrator designed to be used alone or with couples.
