Advanced creative agency breaks ground with three industry-renowned female leaders and founding clients

Today sees the launch of Uncharted, the advanced creative agency designed to give clients the confidence to set out without fear, in uncertain times.

Founded by three of the most prominent leaders in the industry: Laura Jordan Bambach, Hannah Hattie Matthews and Fern Miller, the agency sets out to help brands grow through creativity with cultural impact. The agency will be powered by advanced technology capabilities that make strategy, creative and production more effective, with a staffing model designed to enable a broader and more inclusive talent mix.

Offering clients fresh creative and strategic thinking alongside advanced capabilities in technology and innovation, the agency aims to be ‘human centred, technology enabled and culture obsessed’.

All of the founders are recognised for their successful leadership of digital innovation agencies, with senior roles at LBi/Digitas, Accenture, R/GA and Dare and a combined 60+ years in the space. Additionally, all three have held leadership roles in top creative agencies (including Grey and Karmarama) and led the development of award-winning brand creative campaigns.

Uncharted has built partnerships with a range of key innovators in the AI and marketing technology space, including Obsolete, Skyrise, Loops, BoltAI and Codec. These will be plugged into the agency’s methodology to offer smarter market and cultural analysis, scaled insight driven creative exploration and real time testing as well as scaled production capabilities. By applying this expertise to a channel agnostic strategic and creative process the agency aims to give clients greater rigour, as well as strengthening the commercial impact of the agency’s output.

Uncharted launches with three initial clients:

  • Seat Unique: the premium ticketing marketplace (scope: an accelerated growth plan, customer experience, marketing operations, brand strategy and culturally charged creative)
  • Pas Normal Cycling: the Danish cycling apparel brand (scope: support and develop new creative approaches, channels and technologies to connect with new audiences)
  • Marlow Distillery: in-house development of a new low alcohol brand for the award winning distillery (scope: market and opportunity definition, naming and identity, trade strategy and launch campaign)

To accelerate the agency’s ability to deliver, it has a structural partnership with Territory Studio, experts in motion design, visual effects and digital experiences. Territory’s production reputation includes credits for ‘Dune Part Two’, ‘Bladerunner 2049’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Bond: No Time To Die’, with a team of over 100 experts. Its agreement with Territory will extend to providing access to some of the world’s most innovative digital product expertise, enabling new routes to execute creative concepts. The collaboration will also extend to provide Uncharted a physical base at the Territory's studio locations including London, Barcelona, New York and San Francisco.

Hattie Matthews, co-founder of Uncharted, commented, “We saw that existing agency models aren’t motivated or modelled for future opportunities. As three fearless, future fascinated leaders, we found ourselves asking “is there a better way?” If we were to ideate the creative agency of the future, in the era of AI, to deliver bolder, smarter and more effective outcomes, what would it look like? We want to give brands the confidence to be able to set out without fear.”

Laura Jordan Bambach co-founder added, “Yes we will use the best new technologies, but importantly we will champion creative thinking by the most diverse community of talent in partnership with those technologies. We will increasingly value original human points of view, emotion and experience to help brands succeed. Creative minds who can think beyond and transform what the computer suggests, and challenge the blandification and bias of generated work, means that our crew of explorers is our superpower.”

Fern Miller, co-founder, said that the goal of Uncharted will be to “rebuild confidence in the industry, with ideas and creative that makes a difference to people and brands, and with a more progressive, intelligent model.”
