Twizzlers, the iconic licorice candy, is bringing a twist to the movie-watching experience with its latest campaign. The campaign features three TV commercials and a Spotify ad that add twists to classic scenarios. Plus there are a number of print and social ads that remove the twists from iconic lines in famous movies.
The new campaign will capture the attention of movie-goers with its fun and unpredictable twist on classic scenes. The commercials all start the same way, with a couple having a romantic night out when one of them suddenly reveals they’re actually a detective. But it’s here that each spot diverges in a surprising way, keeping the viewer guessing - and laughing - the whole time.
Twizzlers marketing manager Nicole Mahon spoke about the campaign’s inspiration, stating, “At Twizzlers, we know that movies are better with a twist. Our new campaign adds a unique spin to an iconic movie scenario to remind consumers that Twizzlers is the perfect snack to enjoy while watching their favourite movies.”
“Some of the most memorable movie scenes are the ones where a twist comes into play,” says Marty Hoefkes, creative director at FCB. “So it felt like a natural fit for the brand to take ownership over that moment. Because everyone can agree that adding a twist makes the movie experience that much better.”
The new Twizzlers ads will appear during popular TV shows and movies, online videos, and in theatres, and will even show up during the twistiest of all TV shows, soap operas, showing that Twizzlers is the perfect snack for any screen-time occasion that could use a twist.
