TRO Teams Up with Wise to Combat Scams

Wise and We Fight Fraud, to raise awareness about scams through a pop-up experience

Experiential marketing agency, TRO, recently partnered with international money app, Wise and We Fight Fraud, to raise awareness about scams through a powerful pop-up experience.

The experience took place on 4th April at Manchester Exchange Square, and saw TRO harness their creative production expertise to create a ‘Scam Safe Space’.

The space offered a confidential environment where people could openly share their experiences with scammers and discuss the impact of scams, free from judgement.

Forming part of a wider, integrated campaign, participants had the chance to leave a message for their scammers. Post-event, these messages will be distributed online and across the city and have tips and tricks on how to spot the red flags of classic scams – all to help raise awareness.

Rob O’Siochain, head of growth, TRO, said, “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to support Wise in bringing the community together in person to fight against the plight of financial scamming.  

“What better way to raise awareness then with an eye-catching safe, allowing consumers to participate in an experience with experts to better understand and identify the common red flags.”

Aaron Wilson, head of fraud prevention, Wise, said, “There is a definite feeling of shame at being caught out by a scam, but really there is nothing to be embarrassed about. We’re calling for real change to break the silence around scam targets. Because ending scam silence is the last thing scammers want.”
