TBWA\Chiat\Day LA campaign helps football fans relax and unwind when games end on Sunday

As an extension of their current ad campaign with Travis Kelce (Overly Direct Sportsperson), DIRECTV has partnered with Travis and TBWA\Chiat\Day LA to create an album of sleepy audiobook content to help fans relax on Sunday evenings. 

We all know and have suffered from the Sunday Scaries: the anxiety that sets in on a Sunday night, once the games are over, knowing the work week is ahead. Now, this album of sleep content is available to help you ‘Sack the Sunday Scaries’.  

With access to every football game, DIRECTV has always had your back on game-day. Now they have your back on game-night too.

The audiobook album consists of 11 soothing sleep tracks all centring on the topic of football. Drift away to 'Lawn Care for Football Venues' or 'How Footballs are Made'. You can even enjoy the soporific sounds of Travis Kelce gently blowing a whistle for 10 minutes.

The audio content will be available exclusively on Spotify, a natural place for soothing audio content to be enjoyed by football fans everywhere.

‘Sack the Sunday Scaries’ will be available to listen when Kelce & Jones open the season on Sept. 7th and throughout the regular season, so stressed football fans can rest easy.

To accompany the soothing sounds from the sports duo, DIRECTV has created a line of merch to give fans something they can use while listening to the playlist and drift off into the endzone of tranquility: 

  • A life-sized Travis Kelce (77’’ tall) body pillow that features him in PJ’s and a nightcap. 
  • A Travis Kelce Pajersey (Pyjama-Jersey) for football fans to wear to bed. 
  • Fans can enter to win these items via sweepstakes on SackTheSundayScaries.com. The sweepstakes will run for four weeks. 

‘Sack the Sunday Scaries’ is an extension of DIRECTV’s ‘Overly Direct Sportsperson,’ a campaign which launched in early August 2023 - the brand partnered with football icon and tight end, Travis Kelce, to show fans they can get their football without compromise. 

Overly Direct Sportsperson and Sack the Sunday Scaries fall under DIRECTV's brand strategy platform, 'TV Without Compromise.'
