To show support and solidarity during The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Action Week Hounslow Council worked with Hounslow-based not-for-profit Capture Minds and commissioned Glimpses; a four-minute journey through the life of a local mother and her adult son as they navigate the devastation of her Dementia diagnosis. The film was directed by Lauren Midwinter, produced by Josh Hillman and written by Sufiyaan Salam.
Glimpses was made with an extremely challenging, publicly-funded budget, no production company or agency; just the director Lauren Midwinter and her producer. The stand-out direction, casting and performances in Glimpses tells an intimate story of this very believable family dynamic while simultaneously relaying a universally relatable message.
Hounslow Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults and Health Integration, Councillor Samia Chaudhary, said, “We are extremely proud to be showcasing this unique film which captures the reality of life with dementia in our borough during Dementia Action Week. This emotional and thought-provoking case study is our tribute to those brave people in our borough who are living with dementia, along with their carers, family members and friends.”
