Brendan Neely, athlete, firefighter and Baby Jogger partner, broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest time running 1km while pushing a single baby stroller (male). Brendan’s record-beating time was two minutes and 51 seconds, 28 seconds faster than the previous record of three minutes and 19 seconds.
Brendan used the Baby Jogger summit™ X3 jogging stroller to complete the attempt. He was pushing his 17-month-old son in the stroller.
Brendan said, “After nearly six months of training with my son and Baby Jogger strollers, I’m excited to have finally achieved my goal. Huge thanks to my family, friends, and Baby Jogger for supporting me and my co-pilot Jack in breaking this record.”
In August 2024, Brendan approached Baby Jogger with the plan to beat the Guinness World Record for the fastest 1km with a stroller (male).
Adham Elshennawy, senior marketing manager, Baby Jogger (Newell Brands), said, “When Brendan approached us about this record, we jumped on board to support. Brendan truly embodies Baby Jogger’s values and purpose – to keep the adventure going together. Today, he gets to add a new adventure to his list of things he’s been able to do with his kids – achieving this Guinness World Record.
Brendan trained using two different Baby Jogger Strollers. The Baby Jogger summit™ X3 jogging stroller, a performance jogging stroller built for a smooth ride on any terrain, with all-wheel suspension and a unique hand-operated deceleration brake for increased control and added safety. He also used the new Baby Jogger® city prix™, a performance jogging stroller that easily transitions to an aerodynamic bike trailer.
Brendan said, “The new Baby Jogger® city prix™ has allowed me to not only train on the track or trail while pushing either of my sons, but has allowed me to further my endurance training by attaching the stroller to my bike to add in more cross training.”
