Tinygiant has announced its latest signing of Brooklyn-based director and writer Doron Max Hagay known for his distinctive voice in comedy and genre-defying storytelling. Hagay moves to Tinygiant from The Directors Bureau, making his debut as the only guest director on season 4 of HBO series HACKS. His arrival marks a major addition to Tinygiant’s directorial line up and reflects the company’s continued investment in boundary-pushing comedic talent.
Doron’s work spans tv, film, and digital shorts, including two seasons as segment director on Saturday Night Live. He directed Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual for Netflix, which was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, and Matt Rogers: Have You Heard of Christmas? for Showtime, which appeared on multiple 'Best of 2022' lists including The New York Times and Vulture. His celebrated short films, such as Vape, Company, and Women Are Mean, have earned him ten Vimeo Staff Picks, a testament to his offbeat wit and visual flair. Currently, he’s in post-production on his first feature film She Keeps Me Young, which he co-wrote with Katy Fullan and Blair Beeken and was produced by Tinygiant and International Pigeon Productions.
"I’m thrilled to be joining the Tinygiant roster, a company whose values and creative ambition I respect, not just for the work they put out, but for the way they champion directors at every stage of their careers. Their commitment to individuality and collaboration is rare, and I’m so excited to work together in the advertising space." said Doron Max Hagay.
Doron’s directorial approach is a natural fit for Tinygiant, a diverse company as committed to original comedy as it is to meaningful representation. A WBENC-certified, women-owned company led by Veronica Diaferia and Sara Eolin, Tinygiant has worked with leading agencies like BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, and 72andSunny, and brands ranging from Adidas to Google and Verizon. The company’s award-winning work, honoured by Cannes Lions, Clios, Webbys, and the Anthem Awards, reflects its dual focus on impact and imagination across their features and commercials.
"Doron brings a singular filmmaking voice marked by sharp wit, inventive storytelling, and an unmistakably original perspective. Having worked with him on the narrative side, I can attest first hand to his unique ability to elevate comedic material. We’re thrilled to now leverage his exceptional talent in the commercial space, where I’m certain he will continue to redefine comedic possibilities." said Neil Champagne, head of development, Tinygiant.
As Tinygiant continues to grow in its 10th year, so does its creative ambition. With Doron joining the roster, the production powerhouse continues to grow with sharp, distinctive voices shaping the future of comedy.
