It’s the beginning of a new collaboration to look out for between Montreal’s own Thomas Soto and Les Enfants.
A true prodigy, Thomas starts his career as a director of photography at the age of 17 (yup, early!). He quickly jumps into directing and establishes himself as an unique voice to carry stories of various natures, shifting from sensitive, intimate camera work with real life subjects to directing actors with precision down to 12 frames, delivering comedy and drama worthy of the best Quebecois codes and devices.
Trilingual and of Peruvian origin, he stands out for his infectious ability to connect with people and his attentive listening, allowing him to adapt his approaches. His sensitivity, coupled with his technical mastery, makes him a seasoned storyteller, sought after for his understanding of the advertising medium and his sharp sense of storytelling.
“It truly is a sensational encounter. The dichotomy between Thomas’ professional maturity and his actual age is astonishing and we fell privileged to help him continue an already prolific career! This guy’s a true craftsman who embodies our shared values: integrity, curiosity, work ethic and uncompromising, unadulterated FUN. Our play date is going strong and we already see him becoming an agency chouchou”, said playfully Guillaume Arsenault, EP at Les Enfants.
“The latest IDEAS (our craft awards in Québec) made me realise just how much the industry has literally watched me grow up, and it truly warmed my heart. Isn’t it ironic to now sign with a company called Les Enfants (the children)? Jokes aside, the fit with their team feels completely natural. Their craft-focused approach and the energy they exude, full of joy, completely won me over. I’m looking to surround myself with passionate, authentic, and healthy people and I believe I’ve found the perfect balance here. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in my advertising career, and I really feel like I’ve found my new home,” said the director.
