Nike and Corinthians launch the jersey in campaign from Wieden+Kennedy Sao Paulo

Corinthians is a soccer team of resilience and determination. In response to the growing prevalence of racism in football in Brazil, the team introduces a new jersey symbolising its antiracist commitment both on and off the field. To launch this jersey, Nike and Corinthians present the campaign 'Our Story is Written on a Black Page', highlighting the team’s pioneering role in the fight for Black representation in football and affirming that today’s football would not exist without the contributions of Black players in the past.

Created by the agency Wieden+Kennedy Sao Paulo, the campaign also includes an innovative mechanism allowing millions of fans across Brazil to make a real commitment to the cause.

When purchasing the new Corinthians jersey - whether in physical stores or online - fans will receive a Terms and Conditions document. Unlike a conventional file with information about returns and exchanges, the Antiracist Terms and Conditions document provides meaningful insights into combating racial discrimination. Adapted from the guide “Combating Racism in Football: From Action to Awareness”, developed by the Observatório da Discriminação Racial no Futebol (Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football), it serves as an antiracist toolkit for both white allies and Black individuals.

"Turning a document like Terms and Conditions into a tool for education and awareness in the antiracist fight was a way for us to ensure people read it carefully and, by signing it, made wearing the jersey a literal commitment to the cause. Through this guide, millions of fans will gain greater awareness of this crucial collective struggle, and millions will wear this symbol of the fight across the country," explain Thiago Victoriano and Pedro Balle, creatives at W+KSP.

The campaign also includes a manifesto film featuring Corinthians idols who have made history on and off the field, spanning the past, present, and promising future. Among them are former player Wladimir, singer and rapper Negra Li, current players Wesley, Raniele, Yasmin, and Ju Ferreira, former player Grazi, and student Anna Beatriz, representing Black leadership across generations in the club’s history.
