French animation studio H5, alongside the Orange Panther Collective agency, have created a film for British newspaper The Financial Times to celebrate 130 years of their renowned salmon-pink paper.
The film, ‘Pink’, resembles an animated scrapbook, stitched together by textured graphics and notable historical moments, exploring the reason behind their unique printing paper. It explains how the company began using paper made from red China clay and how their decision to be ‘fearlessly different’ by not bleaching it resulted in a brilliant distinctive feature of the Financial Times.
H5’s contemporary collage brings new life to the world’s leading global paper, and is successful in being both informative and entertaining as it highlights the environmental and cultural advantages of having an instantly recognisable paper.
