Agency delivered a new visual identity for the pop-up and brought this to life across the hut exterior, coffee cups and tote bags

This summer, The Public House teamed up with Tinto ‘Coffee and Wine’ bar to create a new brand identity for South Dublin's latest pop-up.

Tinto is an outdoor café and wine hut launching on the back of a successful rebrand of Peggy Kelly’s outdoor 'park' area in Harold’s cross. They aim to bring a new social amenity to the locality, appealing to families, professionals and the wider Harold’s Cross community.

The Public House delivered a new visual identity for the pop-up and brought this to life across the hut exterior, coffee cups and tote bags.

The new wordmark was created through hand rendered typography giving it a raw and authentic feel which echoed what the brand is all about - top quality,  accessible produce for people on the move.  The coffee category has become saturated with a formulaic clinical approach to design, meaning it's hard to differentiate one shop from the other.

Eimear O’Sullivan, head of design for The Public House, noted that: “This is such a playful category to work in but we wanted to ensure we didn't fall into category and design norms. We wanted to create something with edge and personality that fitted in with its surroundings and most of all, had soul!  From the minute we met the owners, Paul and Dairine it was clear ‘Tinto’ had character and that's what we brought to life through this raw, hand drawn logo and visual identity.”

Paul Clinton of Tinto said:  “Our coffee and wine pop-up needed an identity and The Public House came to the rescue. They took the time to understand our vision and direction, delivering focused and refined work at each stage of the project. The result is a visual identity that is fresh and stands out from the crowd, exceeding our expectations”

This is the latest project from the design arm of the Public House that has been flexing its creative muscle in recent years. Design collaborations include the successful rebrand of Golf Ireland, a new identity for The IFRAH Foundation as well as designing a new identity and managing its rollout for Copper and Straw Coffee. The agency has built a strong team of multidisciplinary designers who work across both ad creation and independent design projects and are excited to be developing this side of the business.

This project for Tinto is the latest from the agency’s award-winning, Local House initiative, where they work with small local businesses based on a bartering system. The Public House provides creative work in return for  goods and services the business specialises in. Other recent Local House work includes Wildlands Activity Centre, Copper and Straw Coffee, The Camera Repair Shop and Connemara Pub Tours. You can find out more about The Local House here.
