Fold7’s quirky idents, written by Gate Lambert and Dan Fryer, transport the antics and frictions of the Big Brother house to the menagerie of items found on Gumtree. From horny chairs to heartbroken salt shakers via competitive cabinets, no inanimate object is safe from the comedic touch of director Piers and Johnny, known as Big Red Button.
Shot in Dukes Island Studios in 1 long day, the idents poke fun at the familiar tropes of Big Brother while showcasing the huge range of products available on the website.
Elegant, static shots combine with gentle tracking shots and quick cuts to simulate the banter and witty repartee of the Celebrity Big Brother housemates.
“These spots could have gone in any number of directions and there was a lot of fun in the cutting room coming up with endless gags for each scenario, ” says Nick Allix.
None of us will look at a toaster, blender or coffee table in the same way again!
