FCB New York has launched a Super Bowl spot for The New York Mets. This is a first-of-its-kind campaign around the Super Bowl from the New York Mets giving fans in the New York / tri-state area a chance to get a jump on the 2023 season.

Followed by an initial teaser during the NFC Championship game locally on FOX 5 NY, the full 30-second spot produced by Media2 Inc. and the New York Mets in-house production team, debuted in the final 45 minutes of the pregame to the Super Bowl, then again in the middle of the first half, also on FOX 5 NY. Giant Spoon handled the media buy for the regional campaign.

The spot, which reached 1 out of 3 people in the Tri-state area, marks the first time any MLB team has advertised during the Super Bowl since the Texas Rangers in 2018.

The laugh-out-loud commercial features key Mets players (Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Edwin Diaz, Kodai Senga, Luis Guillorme, and Tomas Nido) showing up on Super Bowl Sunday to work the phones in the new 'Amazin’ Call Center'. This real-life call centre will serve as a hotline for Mets fans to purchase season tickets and ticket packages and access unlock enticing giveaways. A QR Code that appears during the spot will lead to a landing page with special ticket offers and a chance to enter the sweepstakes to win 2023 season tickets.

The Super Bowl spot is just the latest example of the NY Mets’ new, fan-first approach to marketing. Baseball fans view the end of the Super Bowl as the unofficial start to baseball season, so they’re using this moment to meet them where they are and kick off a marquee season for the Mets.
