The annual awards programme for independent agencies, The Indie Awards, was held on 30th November 2021 in London.
The Indie Awards is the only global awards programme specifically designed for independent agencies, judged by independent agencies. The event attracted guests both in-person and virtually via live stream and was organised by thenetworkone, the world’s largest network of independent agencies.
“The Indie Awards is a celebration of the independent sector”, says Stephanie Fox, International Consultant at thenetworkone and one of the organisers of The Indie Awards, “we’ve had entries from all over the world, and we’re proud to showcase the amazing creativity, innovation and effectiveness of their work”.
The Indie Awards were judged by a panel of esteemed, diverse agency leaders, including Chairpeople Gareth Leck, co-founder & group CEO of Joe Public in South Africa; Girish Balachandran, managing partner of ON PURPOSE in India; Kate Midttun, CEO of Acorn Strategy in the UAE; Glenda Wynyard, managing director of The Media Precinct in Australia; Tara Turkington, CEO of Flow Communications in South Africa and Claire Hynes, founder of Mr President in the UK.

The top prize of the night, the ‘Best-In-Show’, went to Optimist Group for their campaign, ’14 is not OK’. The effective piece of work was created for the Estonian Sexual Health Association - Eesti Seksuaaltervise Liit, highlighting an Estonian law that was putting children at risk, which was subsequently changed.
