The Heavy to Headline Music+Sound 2013

With all the entries in and the judging process well underway, Music+Sound Awards 2013 are pleased to announce that tickets for the event are now on sale to music and media professionals at masawards.com.  Organisers will once again ignore the black ties and round tables in favour of an ‘indoor music festival’ feel, with internationally acclaimed band The Heavy headlining the night.

 

Following recent sell-out tours of North America and UK, The Heavy are set to ignite the Music+Sound Awards’ stage with their unique blend of gospel inspired soul and garage rock. If David Letterman’s reaction is anything to go by, guests are going to see something very special - when The Heavy played How You Like Me Now? on The Late Show, it became the first song he has ever requested an encore for. When they returned to perform their latest single What Makes A Good Man? recently, he not only asked for another encore, but joined in on backing vocals.

 

Nick Payne & Dan Neale, founders of the Music+Sound Awards say: “The Heavy have had some high profile syncs because the energy in their songs works so well when put to picture, for example in The Fighter. This as well as the fact the band are renowned for their amazing live performances, makes them the perfect headline act for the Music+Sound Awards.”

 

Launched in 2011 to recognise and celebrate the role of music and sound in Advertising, Film, Television and Gaming, the Music+Sound Awards is back for a second year this time hosting their ceremony at Troxy, East London.

 

This year the Music+Sound Awards are supporting Nordoff Robbins, the national music therapy charity. In addition to fundraising surprises planned for the awards ceremony itself, there is an opportunity to make a donation when buying tickets for the event.

 

Further acts are due to be announced in the coming weeks, while the shortlist of finalists will be announced at the beginning of February.
