As part of its commitment to being a responsible business, The Creative Engagement Group (TCEG) has hired Sophie Atkins as sustainability manager to help the communications group in driving the development of its sustainability strategy. Sophie will focus on five core areas: Environmental Sustainability; Health & Wellbeing; Community; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Business Practice & Ethics.
Sophie joins TCEG from Abri, a not-for-profit housing association based in the south of England, where she was sustainability programme manager. Sophie reports into Tim Williams, director of operations at The Creative Engagement Group.
Sophie will be the company-wide authority on sustainability issues, working with the senior leadership team and key sustainability stakeholders across the business to embed change through effective governance, KPIs and reporting. Sophie will also provide support to our clients and project teams in their sustainability strategies, liaising with industry sustainability body isla and developing our usage of the TRACE sustainability tracker.
Sophie has 13 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, a sector which has deep rooted societal and environmental purpose. She is currently undertaking MSc Management for a Sustainable Future and CMI Level 7 Strategic Leadership and Management. Sophie is a Change Management Practitioner and is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project.
