The Berry have teamed up with the ‘best’ football team in London to create a scroll-stopping, ‘wait, was that real?!’ viral video.
To achieve this striking social stunt, the team began by filming a plate shot of Tower Bridge. Then, they created a photo-realistic texture for the T-shirt by photographing it under similar lighting to the location footage. Next, they stitched together a UV-mapped texture to apply to a blank 3D T-shirt model and placed 3D geometry into the scene so that our T-shirt had something (in place of Tower Bridge) to be draped over. Finally, they used Houdini to create realistic wind simulations.
The result: an absolutely photo-real Chelsea Third Kit T-shirt draped over Tower Bridge which interacts organically and naturally with its surroundings.
The Berry have been pioneers of the FOOH (Fake Out of Home) trend that you may have been seeing more of recently on your social timelines. They have been kicking up attention by placing larger-than-life and out-of-this-world objects into videos of the real world, including the Chelsea Third Kit, giant corks on top of New York skyscrapers for Cult Wine, and a plethora of other creatures, objects and actions that push the boundaries of viral filmmaking.
