The Berry Joins Forces with Formula E to Craft Striking Opening Titles for Season 10

The Berry team created these mesmerising, photo-realistic, CGI racing animations that not only cinematically showcase the new Gen 3 race car but also visualise the several iconic city locations from Formula E’s exciting race calendar this season.

This action-packed, CG film was directed by The Berry Boys alongside Andy Daly.​

​A VFX green screen shoot in Valencia (during the FE pre-season testing period) provided a large selection of heroic driver assets for the film. The Berry’s VFX and MGFX teams then strategically placed the drivers throughout the motion graphic scenes of the film to visually break up the CGI racing sequences, whilst also highlighting the drivers as the stars of the sport.​

Working with a shiny new 3D CAD (Cinema 4D) model of the Gen 3 race car, The Berry were able to completely rework the car for all of the CG animations. This involved rigging the car and recreating the car’s livery to include unique artwork and sponsors. All textures including metal, plastic, carbon fibre and other surface details were also meticulously recreated and applied to the final model, to ensure a photo-realistic final result.

The Berry have worked with Formula E on various exciting projects over the years, and the results of each one just keep getting better! These fresh opening titles have proved a great start to the season (and to each episode) and continue to showcase The Berry’s scope of talent and genuine passion for collaborating with the planet’s favourite sport!
