The Berry and global fashion retailer, New Look, made a viral film that featured a larger-than-life CG jacket hanging from the top of the London Shard, to promote their Black Friday deals.
The Berry’s viral VFX film features a New Look branded Black Teddy Trim Longline Coat, hanging off the iconic Shard building in the heart of London. The CGI team at The Berry ensured that the coat not only achieved an uncanny resemblance to its original design, but also represented an epic and breath taking scale to help promote the brand and their huge Black Friday deals.
Numerous images of the physical coat served as references to ensure accuracy in the recreation of the coat’s design. 3D garment software, CLO, allowed the coat to be stitched and sewn together before being imported into Houdini software, where the coat was simulated against the Shard; appearing as though it was really there, naturally blowing in the wind.
To promote New Look even further, The Berry cleverly incorporated additional, strategic branded elements within the scene. Watch the full film again and keep an eye on the London bus that passes… notice anything? The power of VFX!
