TBWA\Vietnam has kicked off the Year of the Dragon with its first ‘Young Bloods’ Programme in Ho Chi Minh City. Tai Chung, Quynh Van and Vinh Nguyen were the chosen ones to join the global network’s talent initiative.
The programme, which was first introduced to the TBWA\Chiat\Day New York office in 2001, is the brainchild of TBWA’s Worldwide Creative Director, John Hunt. “The programme is special because it’s not an internship. The idea is simple – we just drown them with creative opportunity. It’s the only way to inspire and nurture the best young talent available,” said Hunt.
“The programme has been extremely successful in developing young talent in our other offices, such as Sao Paulo, London, India, Berlin, New York and Los Angeles. We believe it will also prove successful here in Vietnam,” said Patrick Tom, Executive Creative Director at TBWA\Vietnam.
The agency launched a short film, online banners and posters to promote the programme and worked with RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) in Ho Chi Minh City to recruit talent. Submissions were received from applicants all over Vietnam and even as far as Australia.
“The Young Bloods release a lot of energy throughout the agency. Often we learn as much from them as they learn from us,” Hunt added.
