TBWA\Manchester has been appointed by Smyths Toys to handle its £11m advertising account after discussions with an undisclosed number of agencies in the UK and Ireland.
Smyths Toys is a leading provider of children’s entertainment products and has 63 stores across the UK and Ireland. The family run business was established in 1987 and named 2012 Toy Retailer of the year at the British Toy and Hobby Association Awards.
TBWA\Manchester’s first campaign will aim to raise awareness of the brand in the UK and is due to launch later this year.
Owner of Smyths Toys, Tony Smyth said: “Following a hugely successful year for Smyths in 2012, we wanted to bring an agency on board to create a new and compelling brand idea to propel Smyths into our next phase of growth.
