The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) today announced the first Good Mate mental health Training event for its members, as part of its new partnership with mental health charity, ALLKND.
The Good Mate Training event, set to be held on Thursday, May 22, is an exclusive opportunity for AiMCO members to become certified in ALLKND’s Australia-first mental health first-aid offering, as part of AiMCO’s commitment to ensuring the health and wellbeing of its member community.
The 90-minute peer-to-peer training session is designed to equip participants with essential skills to identify mental health challenges and provide first-aid and support, while fostering compassion and resilience within the rapidly growing and evolving Australian influencer marketing community.
The event is the first session to be held as part of ALLKND and AiMCO’s year-long partnership, as AiMCO commits to providing critical mental health training for its creator community.
The inaugural training event will be hosted by ALLKND founder, Milly Rose Bannister.
Milly Rose is an award-winning Gen Z specialist, who founded ALLKND in 2020, to provide critical digital mental health education for young Australians. Milly Rose's mission is to inspire compassion and kindness, remove mental health stigma and teach people how to be “good mates” via ALLKND’s unique Good Mate Training initiative.
Milly Rose said, "Compassion and understanding is one of the most underrated tools we have to protect our community (and our own) mental wellbeing – not just in workplaces, but online, where so many of us show up every day as community leaders. Through this partnership with AiMCO, we’re equipping creators and marketers with the skills and language to talk about it, spot the signs, confidently take action, and be a good mate, because real influence starts with how we show up for one another.”
AiMCO managing director, Patrick Whitnall, said, “ALLKND’s goal is to get at least one young person in every Australian workplace, sporting team, household and group chat certified as a ‘good mate.’ We’re supporting that mission with our partnership with ALLKND, as we aim to get as many representatives from AiMCO member organisations certified in critical peer-to-peer mental health support as possible.
“This event is the first of many we are planning with ALLKND as part of our landmark partnership. We take the mental health of our community seriously. We want to ensure our members feel empowered to look after their own mental health and to provide support for their fellow community, while also having a deeper understanding of how they can use their platforms to tackle mental health challenges.”
The ALLKND x AiMCO Good Mate Training event will be held on Thursday, May 22 at the WPP Offices in Sydney at L10/1 Shelley Street, Barangaroo from 8am. It is available for all AiMCO members.
