Bastion, Australasia’s largest independent marketing and communications agency, is proud to announce the appointment of Madeleine Leonard as marketing manager, reporting to Bastion ANZ CEO, Cheuk Chiang.
Madeleine brings a unique blend of strategic communications expertise, senior stakeholder engagement and integrated marketing experience, honed over an international career spanning globally listed corporations, boutique agencies and high-performing teams.
Most recently at Dentsu, a global marketing and communications network, Madeleine played a pivotal part driving internal and external communications, managing executive operations and delivering large-scale strategic employee initiatives across multi-market teams. Her ability to lead cross-regional programs, craft impactful messaging, and align leadership teams around key priorities has been instrumental in driving commercial outcomes and organisational cohesion.
“Madeleine’s appointment signals a new chapter in how we tell our story,” said Cheuk. “Her breadth of experience from integrated marketing and executive alignment to internal engagement and communications makes her a powerful asset as we sharpen our focus on sales and marketing to fuel our next phase of growth.”
At Bastion, Madeleine will champion the agency’s marketing strategy, leading initiatives that elevate brand visibility, strengthen market positioning, and support business development. She will work closely with CEO Cheuk and agency leaders to align marketing efforts with commercial goals across client’s most critical marketing challenges.
“I’ve long admired Bastion’s bold ambition to put brands, organisations and people in a position of strength, constantly looking for ways to solve challenging client problems,” said Madeleine.
"Joining a business that values client centricity, creativity, agility, and people so highly is energising, and I look forward to helping drive the next chapter of growth.”
Madeleine’s appointment strengthens Bastion’s commitment to building a best-in-class marketing function that mirrors the strength of its client offering.
