Freschetta pizza, a Minnesota based company, has launched The Great Frozen Pizza Expedition with TBWA\Chiat\Day LA to bring delicious frozen pizza made with high-quality ingredients to the residents of Angle Inlet, MN in the most Minnesota way possible - using local sled dogs to carry a freezer full of Freschetta pizzas across the frozen lake.
Due to a mapping error in the 1700s, the town of Angle Inlet is the northernmost point of the contiguous US, locked between Canada and a lake, so residents must cross the US-Canada border (twice) and back just to get to the grocery store.
When there’s a town of pizza lovers with limited access to groceries and frozen pizza - and must cross borders to get their hands on Freschetta pizza - that deserves respect.
In a state where it has become a mealtime go-to, the maker of Freschetta pizza wants to share its pizza respect with the residents of Angle Inlet because this centuries-old mapping error has made it difficult for them to easily access frozen pizza
Of course, this can be done the Minnesota way: using sled dogs to carry a freezer full of Freschetta pizzas across the frozen lake, providing a stash of 150 pizzas to the citizens of Angle Inlet, and saving them trips across the US-Canada border.
The Freschetta pizza freezer is housed at local Angle Inlet snowmobile club The Northwest Angle Edge Riders for residents to enjoy.
