Syncbubble Dubbles, our ongoing musical experiment has taken a turn for the summery. Last week The Gate’s Dave Trott and Somesuch director Sam Hibbard went head to head, giving the swaggering Southern Comfort ad ‘Beach’ a musical rebrand. The original bluesy track 'Hit or Miss' by Odetta was replaced by The Stranglers' 'Peaches' and Unk's 'Walk It Out'. Inspired by their efforts (which you can watch here), LBB readers flooded to Syncbubble to have a go themselves. Check out our showcase below.
In the meantime, if you want to have a go, head over to Syncbubble Dubbles here. It couldn't be simpler: pick an ad, search for a track using Syncbubble's revolutionary technology or even upload your own composition and create a playlist. Next week we’ve got a clash of the production titans as RSA UK MD Kai Hsiung and Blink MD James Studholme will be having a go at Ikea Lamp – you definitely don’t want to miss it.
Best Beach Makeovers
Tom Haines & Chris Branch
Composers Tom Haines and Chris Branch – better known as Brains and Hunch – put an 80s spin on Beach with The Human League’s Love Action (I Believe in Love).
Pete Jones
Composer Pete Jones unleashes hits just the right amount of sleaze with Gary’s Gang classic The Hustle. Think hairy chest, think gold medallions, budgies smugglers and lots of sunshine. In other words, spot on.
