Quiksilver Japan and TBWA\HAKUHODO today announce the launch of a revolutionary new product that enables Japan’s over-working businessmen to regain their work/surf balance.
Japanese businessmen, known as ‘salary-men’, are notoriously over-working. As students with flexible schedules, they were able to enjoy surf time, but once their careers took off, they no longer had the time to hit the waves.
‘True Wetsuits’ are authentic, high quality wetsuits made by Quiksilver, one of the world’s leading outdoor sports lifestyle companies, which can also be worn as suits on business occasions. The jacket and pants are made from 2mm super high-stretch jersey neoprene, and the shirt is made with ‘DRYFLIGHT’, a fabric developed by Quiksilver and 3M for superior water repellency.
With this revolutionary product, sports-minded workaholics can head straight from the beach to the boardroom.
The concept, developed by TBWA\HAKUHODO, launched today with the dedicated Quiksilver ‘True Wetsuits’ website and an online film that shows fans how they can fit surf time back into their busy lives.
On the website, Japanese surfers can select their size and order the perfect ‘True Wetsuit’, including a jacket, pants, shirt and tie. The made-to-order suits cost 300,000 yen and take approximately two months from order placement to delivery.
