"Don't get me wrong, what we think we become" - MOTOR, RED OCEAN

Low rattling steel wires like Cessna’s flying by. Rhythmic clockwork - cuvé of rock drums and urban beats, oppressive sound atmosphere. Singer Bernhard's voice booms just above the instrumentals’ mighty landscapes. When alternative/garage and grunge put on a new jersey and clash on a pitch with poppy songs, the match is emotional and compelling. The band's themes revolve around individual and social ambivalence, identity crises, procrastination, anger, love and resilience.

Bernhard, the band's songwriter, frontman and producer, has produced music for other artists and composed the soundtrack for several short films and numerous commercials. This allows him a unique perspective on pop/rock music, which he brings to life through RED OCEAN. The first single ‘Lever’ was released on July 14th, 2023, the first live gig took place on July 15th, 2023 at the Skandaløs Høffest, on July 29th 2023 a Livesession of the first Single was released and a Slot for a Gig on the famous Reeperbahnfestival is confirmed.

About the Song 'Motor'

Have you ever had a crush on a person and realised relatively quickly that this person is actually not ready for you? And if you then also notice that this person needs help to solve their problems and you take the blame for it and become their engine… during this time ‘Motor’ was written. If you know, you know.

Red Ocean

Raised in the mountains of Gastein (Austria), Bernhard started his first grunge band at the age of 15. At the age of 19 he embarked on a journey to Hamburg, where he graduated from the "Deutsche Pop" academy with a focus on music production. During this time he founded the house/techno project ‘Befew’ together with a friend. Befew organised their own party series in Lüneburg. Later, he produced the EP ‘Colours’ under the pseudonym Radiokraft and the album ‘Panama’ as George Bernhard.

The latter has been published successively since the end of 2022. Already on ‘Colours’, which was influenced by the music from Seattle in the ‘90s and the "Busy P Bubble" of the late ‘00s, you can feel a density and intensity in the songs that stretch from the album ‘Panama’ to today's work.

After Bernhard collected his 10,000 hours in the electronic music scene, it was time for a new endeavour: Back to the roots. Back to guitar music. Off to Berlin, where he lives today.

With RED OCEAN he rediscovered his love for the guitar and pop music of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘90s and condensed them into sophisticated productions and brute worlds of songs.
