Apple’s latest campaign, ‘Mac for Students’ celebrates creativity and innovation in Japan’s university extracurricular groups, known as ‘circles.’ The student-led teams push boundaries in fields including hybrid rocket engineering, stop-motion animation, game development and sports analytics.
The campaign from TBWA\Media Arts Lab Tokyo shows how Mac and iPhone give students the tools to bring their most creative ideas to life and collaborate in ways no other devices can.
The core message of the campaign is that Mac is the ultimate tool and partner for students to express creativity and realise their most ambitious projects. Mac empowers students across various disciplines including engineering with Fusion 360 and KiCad, artistic freedom with Adobe Creative Suite and Unity or powerful video analysis and collaboration supported by SPLYZA Teams for sports analytics and Microsoft 365 for teamwork.
The campaign features four university circles:
Muroran Institute of Technology: SARD (Hybrid Rocket Engineering)
Tama Art University: studioJACA (Stop-Motion Animation)
Osaka Electro-Communication University: freshmeeeeeeen (Game Development)
Rikkyo University: Women’s Lacrosse Team ULTIMATES (Sports Analytics)
In each film, the stories are told by the students themselves, showing how their cutting-edge, highly creative work is achieved by Mac.
‘Mac for Student’s launches during the the broadcast of the Hakone Ekiden, Japan’s historic New Year’s marathon relay.
