StrawberryFrog, the world's first cultural movement agency established an office in Mumbai, according to Scott Goodson, StrawberryFrog founder and global chairman. Raj Kamble, former chief creative officer and managing director of BBH India, joins StrawberryFrog as partner and managing director of the office, which is located in a modern part of the city in a bright new office space.
"Given the importance of India both for Indian firms looking to grow their companies globally and our current clients looking to grow their business in India, it was imperative that we have an office in India," said Goodson. "Raj is a talented, smart and worldly friend and StrawberryFrog is thrilled to have him on board at the helm in India. We met many people in India and all of our meetings and discussions kept leading us back to one person -- Raj. He exemplifies and epitomizes the culture and approach of StrawberryFrog and fits in perfectly with our existing global team.”
Kamble is a homegrown creative with extensive experience working for agencies like Lowe and BBDO, where he served as global creative director on Gillette across London and New York. He later returned to India to join BBH as MD and creative chief.
"I was looking for a more tangible partnership with a place that has a great culture for creativity, and a partner who I can trust, connect with and share a vision,” said Kamble. "Scott is a good friend and an enthu-preneur. StrawberryFrog is very unique and I think it's a great fit for India and the culture we have."
StrawberryFrog is the first cultural movement agency to open in India. It is known in the Indian market for its "RISE" movement for Mahindra, one of India's most powerful companies.
Karin Drakenberg and Goodson started the agency in Amsterdam in 1999 with a vision for a different kind of agency, one that sparked movements for brands instead of simply doing advertising. They have since built a team that is well-known for conceiving innovative campaigns for many of the world’s strongest brands. The agency's international campaigns include the recently launched global movement “Hello Tomorrow” for Emirates Airlines, one of the world's most respected and largest airlines. This week, StrawberryFrog also launched its first international movement for LG and its Optimus G smartphone, the next generation challenger brand competing against Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy. Other recent award-winning efforts include Google, Microsoft, Heineken of Holland, Natura of Brasil, Jim Beam of America, and P&G's/Pampers' iPad/iPhone apps for “Hello Baby.”
In 2012, StrawberryFrog entered into a partnership with global independent communication, stakeholder engagement and business strategy firm, APCO Worldwide, with the goal of powering StrawberryFrog to the next level globally. This is the first step in that direction.
“Ideas that move the world forward are always exhilarating, and India today represents people, ideas and companies that are doing just that,” said Goodson. “I believe our new presence here will have a profound impact on our entire global operation.”
