straight 8 shootout Announces First Live Online Premiere
straight 8 has announced the first ever straight 8 shootout with a live online premiere for 2018, taking place on Thursday 6th December at 2pm London time.
Entries are now open to the first 24 companies to enter. Some of the companies already entering are Taiyo Kikaku and Groundglass, Hey Wonderful, Apache Color, Framestore Pictures, Hog Butcher + Tessa, Final Cut and Ogilvy New York. If your company would like to enter the competition, click here. Each entering company makes a short film about anything on one roll of super 8, with no opportunity to edit, grade, title or post-produce. It's all in-camera. Entrants will see their work for the first time at the live global online premiere.
The live online premiere format will mirror the format of straight 8's shootouts at Cannes, Ciclope and ADFEST. There will be a live vote immediately after the films are played, and the winning companies will get to donate prize money to the charities of their choice.
