STADIUM CREATIVE GROUP is proud to announce the signing of Rodney Lucas, a visionary filmmaker whose raw, street-level storytelling has made him one of the most compelling directors in contemporary filmmaking.
Hailing from the South Side of Chicago and now based in Brooklyn, Lucas has built a career at the intersection of documentary and commercial filmmaking, creating emotionally charged, culturally rich narratives for brands like Nike, Adidas, Beats by Dre, US Bank, Amazon, Square, Verizon, Puma, Clarks Originals, and Toms Shoes. His work is a testament to the power of media as a cultural unifier.
Lucas’s latest documentary, Black Hercules, an intimate exploration of Black bodybuilding, was officially selected for the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, marking a major milestone in his career. Additionally, he was tapped to direct the Netflix series Untold: The Murder of Air McNair, which investigates the meteoric rise of legendary NFL quarterback Steve McNair and the complex, tragic circumstances surrounding his shocking 2009 murder.
“Rodney is an undeniable force in modern storytelling,” said Samy Mosher, founder and director at STADIUM CREATIVE GROUP. “His ability to craft deeply human narratives— whether in documentary form or commercial campaigns—sets him apart. With Black Hercules making waves at Tribeca and his Netflix directorial debut, this is just the beginning of his impact. We couldn’t be more excited to have him on board.”
Lucas’s work has earned numerous accolades, including a Tribeca X Award, a Webby, 13 Telly Awards, 3 AdStar Awards, and a Cannes Lions shortlist recognition. He is also the founder of Southside Films, a cinematic house dedicated to collaborative Black storytelling. Rodney just wrapped a multi day production with the Obama Foundation which is currently in post-production and releasing later in 2025.
His addition to STADIUM CREATIVE GROUP further cements the company’s commitment to partnering with directors who push creative boundaries and redefine modern filmmaking.
