Prime Focus has premiered a new campaign for electronics and mobile communications company OPPO. Official sponsors of the Indian cricket team, OPPO are gearing up for the Cricket World Cup in England later this year with a new short that tells the story of some of the world's most successful cricket players.
The Slumdog Millionaire-esque tale explores the childhoods of those now playing on the national team. We see these players reflect on their youth during which they played cricket on the streets - being slightly disruptive and having run-ins with their unimpressed neighbours. The scenes are blended seamlessly with the four cricket players' performances on the field and, at the end of the film, the joyous reactions of those once annoyed by the young cricketers.
The Indian street scenes are captured in authentic locations with five shooting days taking place in Johannesburg, Mumbai and Delhi.
