FCB has today confirmed the appointment of Slade
Gill as a creative director. Gill joins FCB's creative department after
a three year stint in the US, working as a creative director at
Publicis New York.
Says Gill: "I'm super happy to be back in New Zealand - land of sun and sanity - and especially chuffed to be working at FCB.
"It's
an agency that I've always wanted to join, so when Tony called me, I
threw away my green card application and anti-Trump placards and packed
my bags. FCB just has this brilliant, uncanny knack for creating the
most iconic and enduring campaigns out there, and their culture is
second to none."
Gill brings his own wealth of experience to the game, having helped
shepherd through some big NZ brand transformations, most notably Spark
and the New Zealand Defence Force.
More recently while in New York, he has helped rebrand and reposition the world's largest bank, Citibank.
Says
Gill: "Although campaigns can take a really long time to develop in the
US, it was a great education working at such scale, and learning from
some of the best in the business."
Says Tony Clewett, executive
creative director, FCB: "When we got a sniff Slade was keen to return
home from his NYC gig, we got in quick.
"I'm thrilled to have his
super smart and strategic mind added to the department - he loves to
deep dive right in and get to the heart of the business problem. Just
days in, and you can already see the value he's adding to our clients.
Brilliant."
