The campaign puts entertainment at the forefront of UK customers’ most searched broadband queries

Every month millions of UK consumers embark on the complicated and mundane process of seeking solutions to their broadband problems online. As the only broadband provider that is built for entertainment, Sky Broadband wanted to step in and change the game by answering the nations most searched broadband queries in a highly entertaining, yet simplistic and useful way. Enter the Sky T Help Desk, an IT desk that is comically manned by Jack and Michael Whitehall, and which marries together functional solutions with laugh out loud commentary. The much-loved father and son duo think they have all the answers, but it transpires that they are, actually, completely clueless. Luckily, real life Sky Expert Pamela Burke is on hand to guide them – and the nation – to broadband mastery.

The Sky Broadband Sky T Help Desk is a digital-only campaign, which launches on YouTube before being activated across Reddit, PPC and Sky.com, with the aim of making Sky Broadband the UK’s number one provider for in-home connectivity knowledge. For this, they have created a humorous content series that addresses the three biggest search queries around broadband, namely WiFi, broadband speed and gaming. Customers will be able to get answers to questions including “how do I set-up my router to boost WiFi performance?”, “what is fibre broadband and how does it work?” and “what speeds do I need to game online?” whilst also enjoying the hilarity of Jack and Michael Whitehall trying to grapple with the fundamentals of broadband… and office work.

Dave Stratton, director of marketing commented: “We know seeking broadband tech support can be overwhelming and complicated. With millions of UK consumers searching for how they can improve their broadband connection online, our Sky T Help Desk campaign is designed to not only remove that pain but make broadband education easy to understand and, most importantly, entertaining. The team has done a brilliant job of bringing that to life, uniting well known British talent with our brand positioning; Sky Broadband, built for entertainment.”
