Thanks to all of the amazing composers who have contributed to the catalogue, and to our global agents for getting our music used around the world.
Score Production Music was founded in 2011 by composer/arranger Dick Walter, whose music will be instantly recognisable to many over a certain age (remember the J R Hartley advert for Yellow Pages?). Dick gave a rare interview to Little Black Book to mark the 300th Album, providing a thoughtful reflection on his musical journey.
Score's catalogue encompasses a wide range of material, from contemporary vocals to retro-lounge and jazz, from cutting-edge dark and dramatic soundscapes to quirky kids music, and from orchestral and chamber pieces to the experimental.
We use a mix of experienced composers as well as young and less established talent and one such young talent is Matthew Carter who is the composer of Album 300, Trip Hop Fun. Matthew brings a distinctive blend of creativity and precision to his work, demonstrating versatility across genres and a sharp ability to write to brief, as showcased in Trip Hop Fun.
Upbeat and playful noughties pop blending guitars, synths and male vocals with a lo-fi trip-hop nonchalance. Featuring quirky vocal samples and a modern twist on classic production; perfect for commercials, TV, films and easy-going content.
This video offers a fascinating look at how Matthew created the samples used in the album.
It's always intriguing to read about what inspires creatives and Matthew's Thinking In Sound interview is no different.
Here's to the next 300 albums!
