AI is no longer a nice-to-have. 60 per cent of consumers now consider AI features important when choosing their next smartphone, while 45 per cent want AI to get things done faster to free up time to do more of what they love.
In the UK, Samsung Galaxy AI features are now available on 4.5 million mobile devices up to three years old, and nearly all Samsung S24 and Foldable consumers (84%) have used AI in the past month.
Nearly a year on from Galaxy AI’s launch, consumers are using AI to boost productivity, improve communication and revamp their photos. This year, Circle to Search and Photo Assist are the top two used features amongst Samsung users.
Once users find the most useful AI feature for them, it’s being used time and time again. For example, Interpreter is used 15 times per month, roughly every other day, by individual users in need of translation assistance, as the app translates in-person conversations in real-time via the phone’s microphone.
Health tracking has also seen a spike since the start of this year. The use of Samsung’s Women’s Health feature, which allows users to record and track menstrual cycles, and predict future cycles, expected fertile periods and ovulation dates, has increased 43%. More broadly, Samsung Health now receives 2.82 million monthly active users, while the use of ‘Daily Activity’ summary has increased 126% since the start of 2024.
Annika Bizon, marketing and Omnichannel director (MX Division) and head of Ireland, Samsung UK said, “AI will only be a success if we put it in the hands of everyone and integrate it with our everyday, so we can’t ringfence the technology. Whether it’s nudging you to book that overdue doctor’s appointment, tracking your sleep patterns or recognising when your body needs a break, AI should be there to help you juggle life’s demands, at your own pace. We’re proud to be paving the way for this next stage of AI accessibility, with millions of Galaxy users already accessing the latest AI capabilities in the palms of their hands.”
