Australia’s newest event series The Open Table has secured industry leader and R/GA Australia’s managing director Victoria Curro to speak at its inaugural function next week.
Open to all areas and levels within the advertising and marketing industry, The Open Table networking event kicks off with a fun night at David’s in Prahran, Melbourne for all-you-can-eat Yum Cha on Wednesday, 23rd October. In addition to general networking opportunities, its first event will now also feature creative innovation studio R/GA Australia’s Victoria Curro; a renowned mentor and champion for fostering industry connection.
Known for her visionary approach and impactful leadership, Victoria is deeply engaged in the industry, committed to advancing diversity and supporting the growth of emerging talent. She has been a mentor with The Trenches programme and was a founding member of the advisory board for the UTS Advanced MBA Course. Recognised for her advocacy, empathy, and dedication to meaningful progress, Victoria was named the 2024 B&T Women in Media Champion for Change and featured on B&T’s 2024 Social Change Makers list.
Victoria said, “Networking doesn’t have to be intimidating – it’s about creating genuine conversations and spaces where people can connect thoughtfully and meaningfully. In today’s environment, with more remote and hybrid work, we need new ways to rebuild those connections and support each other. Ultimately, it’s about building relationships that matter and helping each other grow.”
The Open Table networking series was launched last month by leading talent consultancy Blue Bateau in a bid to reconnect an increasingly disconnected advertising and media industry. It aims to build stronger peer connections across all types of roles within the industry, with a “no closed doors, hierarchy or agendas” policy, within a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
Deanne Constantine, founder of leading talent consultancy, Blue Bateau, said, “The response to the launch of The Open Table has been incredibly positive, with people from right across the industry in all different roles already set to come along. And we’re thrilled to have Victoria speak at our first event – she’s a true champion of networking and developing the next generation of our industry. Victoria embodies our vision for The Open Table – a sophisticated and intelligent business forum that rebuilds the connection our industry sorely needs.”
Plans are already underway to bring The Open Table to Sydney early next year. A limited number of tickets to the first Open Table event in Melbourne are now available: https://events.humanitix.com/the-open-table
