Too many headlines cast AI as the enemy of creativity, so the agency wanted to show how when people and technology work together, it opens new creative possibilities. The result is what R/GA has cutely dubbed Happy Holid.ai.
The team fed an AI with holiday lyrics and greetings and asked it to write new ones. They then took the headlines it wrote and used them as a brief for R/GA's family of designers and artists to make holiday greeting cards.
Written by a specific form of AI called recurrent neural network (RNN), and illustrated by people, R/GA London is selling the cards online with all the profits going to a local London charity: Code Your Future. This organisation runs coding programs for refugees and disadvantaged people.
