Gabriel Cheung and Chapin Clark (the Twitter voice of R/GA’s handle) have been elevated to global executive creative director roles. Additionally, Nikhil Mitter is taking on the role of global creative director. All three will work with other global creative leads, Daniel Barak and Ari Halper, in addition to global chief creative officer Tiffany Rolfe to develop best-in-class creative and technology with people at the center.
Gabriel Cheung, Global Executive Creative Director
Gabriel is a global executive creative director with more than 14 years of experience and has been at R/GA for 7+ years. He is the global creative lead for Nike and American Express. With an art direction background, he is a hybrid creative who can work with both systems and stories. His most recent work on Nike plays at the intersection of systems and stories and has been praised by industry professionals and the press as best-in-class, and has won numerous awards for its innovative use of technology, including Cannes Lions, Grand Clios, D&AD Pencils, and One Show Pencils.
Chapin Clark, Global Executive Creative Director
Chapin joined R/GA in 2001 as a copywriter on the IBM account. He has spent the past 20+ years helping companies find their voice on social media; creating content for clients in financial services, tech, telcom, consumer packaged goods, healthcare, petcare, and just about every other industry vertical; and occasionally naming products and services for startups in the R/GA Ventures program. Since 2009 he has been the voice of R/GA on Twitter, cited by Adweek, Ad Age, Digiday, and others as a leader on the platform.
Nikhil Mitter, Global Creative Director
At R/GA, Nikhil has helped shape experiences for clients including Verizon, Nike, Samsung, and Goldman Sachs, along with the recent redesign of R/GA’s brand ecosystem. His work has been situated across multiple disciplines intersecting design, art, research, and technology. He has previously held positions at a biotech startup, frog design, AREA 17, and Tribal Worldwide; partnered with Apple, LVMH, and Pentagram; and created architectural installations at sites including Lincoln Center and Burj Khalifa. He has been featured in several research initiatives, exhibited internationally in venues such as MOCA Taipei, and been recognized by the Webby Awards, Discovery Channel, Adobe’s Design Center Think Tank, Type Directors Club, and ACM.
