RESISTER’s Composer Agency 515 Signs Shelly McErlaine

RESISTER's composer agency 515 announced their newest signing, Shelly McErlaine. Best known for being one half of the iconic '90s band Alisha's Attic which scored 11 hit singles, produced four gold and platinum selling albums and was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, Shelly was described as an iconic female voice of the legendary Lilith Fair tour of America in 1997 by Q magazine. 

In 2005 Shelly released her solo album 'Hard Time For The Dreamer' which entered the I-Tunes Chart at number 1 in the UK and France, and earned her constant radio exposure and numerous five-star reviews. Shelly went on to co-found the Alt-Folk band Red Sky July with her husband Ally McErlaine (lead guitarist and founding member of the Scottish band Texas.) Red Sky July have released four albums all entering the Official UK Country charts in the top three. They also won the Nordoff Robbins inspiration award in 2013 and have toured with Jools Holland, Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle and Suzanne Vega.

Shelly is a multi platinum, award-winning songwriter who has worked closely with talents as diverse as Janet Jackson, Massive Attack, Jack Savoretti, Mark Ronson, Imogen Heap, The disciples, Take That, Zucchero, Au/Ra, James Carter and Punctual to name a few.

Shelly has spent recent years focussing on music for media, composing and producing bespoke music for brands including De Beers and Lenor, and writing for platforms including ITV 1, BBC1, Netflix, BBC, Channel 4 and Sky Arts. In 2022 Shelly scored the Sundance winner 'My Old School' by Jono McLeod seeing her spotlighted as female composer of the year by ASCAP.
